The Occupancy Department is responsible for all phases of occupancy from the time the applicant becomes a tenant to the time of vacancy. To insure the tenants, comply with their lease obligations for the Low Rent, Mutual Help, Tenant Based Assistance, Tax Credit Programs and Trailer Park Programs. The department works closely with individual or agency inquiries providing information regarding program functions and policies. Receives requests, complaints, referrals, etc. and takes appropriate action as needed in accordance with FBTHA policies, local and federal regulations.

The Fort Belknap Tribal Housing Authority Occupancy Department comply with the Federal Fair Housing Laws. It is illegal to discriminate against any person because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, age or handicap.
All applicants for housing are required to provide the information requested. All information is verified by a third party verification. This information will be held in STRICT CONFIDENCE and will only be used by Project Manager to determine the applicants’ eligibility to occupy the project unit. All tenants must meet the eligibility requirements established by HUD and NAHASDA.
Applicants who have FULLY COMPLETED the application and are income qualified will be entered on the waiting list and notified of vacancies based on the order of priority as established by the Fort Belknap Tribal Housing Authority rules and regulations.
